Special Topics in Yoga 2025: Online Wednesdays 18:00 – 19:30 CET

This Year, our Wednesday Online classes will be organized as “Special Topics” since each session is a deep dive into a particular theme and exploration of different topics in Yoga.  Each session will be a unique exploration, and the collection of all five sessions are interrelated.   So you can join for a single series or the entire year.  See details on each Topic below!

  • Topic 1 – INQUIRY YOGA: Let the Questions Guide YouJan 15 – Feb 26 (6 weeks)

    • During this Online series, we will use the tools of Yoga to live these questions of our During this Online series, we will use the tools of Yoga to live these questions of our lives. We will reflect on why/how we practice—whether it’s to repair ourselves or to liberate our true essence. The approach to asana and pranayama is through an intersectional lens, acknowledging that our bodies and breath are shaped by both inherited and learned experiences. Recognizing that our nervous system is a mix of hardwiring and learned patterns, we reflect on the influence of our ancestors and the power we hold to rewrite the social programming that no longer serves us. In our practice of Pratyahara, we turn inward, use rest and conscious reflection to short-circuit outdated patterns and reconnect with our deeper selves.  For those connected to the teachings of the Yoga Sutras, we will focus on the tools of YAMA, NIYAMA, ASANA, PRANAYAMA, and PRATJAHARA (the external Anga-s)
  • Topic 2 – Wake Me Up Inside: Nurture the Inner SelfMarch 12 – April 9 (5 weeks)

    • Our yoga practices will cultivate key qualities such as confidence and faith in ourselves and the world, hope that inspires us to manifest high ideals through our actions, generosity in sharing our gifts, humility in recognizing our role without bearing the entire burden, and wisdom rooted in self-love. These qualities guide us toward personal growth and a deepest aspects of ourselves – Inspired by the Franciscan tradition of personal transformation, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and the radical self-care tradition of Audre Lordes
  • Topics 3 – FOUNDATIONS OF ENERGETICS – APril 30 – June 4 (6 weeks)

    • Through this 6 week series, we will integrate a range of techniques, including the Pancha Vayu Model (Prana, Apana, Vyana, Samana, Udana) and the Bird Model of the Energetic Body, to build awareness and support for these vital energies. We will practice Valaving techniques such as Viloma Ujjayi, Anuloma Ujjayi, and Pratiloma Ujjayi to deepen our breathwork. Emphasis will be placed on making yoga an integral part of life by working with the unique personality of each practitioner, bringing meaning into practice, and exploring the neuroscience of embodiment to enhance awareness and connection in the body.
  • Topics 4 – GAYATRISept 24 – Oct 29 (6 weeks)

    • We will  use the mirror of our physical body to find safety and comfort in the reality of an ever changing world.  With this solid foundation, we will challenge the breath and body to build and sustain energy. Conscious movement practices will focus on strengthening the Anatomy of breath, and the foundation of the body.Taking time to practice learning and reciting the Gayatri mantra for use in Personal Practice, and meditate on the inspiration of the meaning.
  • Topic 5 – HELLO DARKNESS, MY OLD FRIENDNov 12 – Dec 3 (4 weeks)

    • Lifting the Calm, Focused Energy of the Body to support the changing seasons.  This nourishing series of group classes is intended to support us with weekly integrated practices for the body, emotions and thoughts – with particular focus on the fact that we are moving in to a time of greater darkness through our daily schedule.  Let’s manage our nervous systems together.
