Breath is the Drishti of Life
This series of live classes is intended to shake up your Ashtanga Vinyasa by shifting focus to the power of the breath and breath-adaptation in Asana. We will gather in the beautiful r_auṃ Regensburg (Pfarrergasse 2), and explore the impact of intense focus on the breath as a tool to expand our relationship with the Ashtanga Vinyasa sequence. If you want to know more about this approach, read Tammy’s background with the practice below.
- Expand Breath Capacity
- Envelop-breathing to flip the relationship between breath and movement
- Integrate Anatomy & Energetics of Pranayama
We will focus on expanding breath capacity. Using Envelop-breathing to flip the relationship between breath and movement. We will also integrate some energetics and philosophical foundation into the very breath of practice.
This deeper awareness will add a live of richness to your sequences and become a resource for greater strength and stamina.
Price 50€ for all 3 sessions.

BACKGROUND: Tammy began her deeper exploration of Yoga Asana with Ashtanga Yoga in 1999. She worked primarily with a Viniyoga teacher, Juris Zinbergs, connected through the San Diego community with Tim Miller. The interpretation is slightly different than the way the sequence was shared through Europe, however both communities had active support from Pattabhi Jois. Tammy only met Jois for a larger workshop week in San Diego during his last world tour in 2002 (she and 200 other people practiced 1st series in a large gym). Because of her intensive training in the Viniyoga tradition (which focuses on adaptation and breath integration), her approach to the sequence is outside of many of the norms instilled by Pattabhi Jois and of the current Ashtanga Yoga community.
