Deconstructing Asana – March 17 in Regensburg

9:00 – 15:00 (5 hours with a break)

 

In this workshops, we will look deeply at the biomechanics of movement and learn to apply basic movement science to enhance our Asana practice in a safe and healthy way.  We will analyze certain classical versions of Asana and reflect on how this relates to the foundations of anatomy.   As always, Tammy will also speak fondly about the applications of adaptation to support healthy movement.   For teachers registered with Yoga Alliance, Continuing Education credit (6 Contact Hours) is available in this series.

5 Directions of Motion and the Spirit of Adaptation

9:00 – 12:00 – moving through the Core
Forward Folding – Stretching the West
Back Bending – Stretching the East
Lengthening the Core – Axial Extensions

13:00 – 15:00 Moving From the Core
Laterals – Side Lengthening
Revolving – Twisting
